Man spotted with open container of alcohol charged with resisting arrest

Bowling Green police were on foot patrol Sunday in City Lot 1 whem they observed a male walking southbound through the parking lot carrying an open bottle of alcohol.

Officers advised the male, identified as Marcus Boomer, 28, Warren, to stop.

When officers asked Boomer for his name and date of birth, he provided a fictitious birthdate. Due to his hesitation when providing the information, officers asked Boomer if the information was correct. Boomer hesitated again and provided a different fictitious birthdate, according to the report.

Officers seized Boomer’s left arm and directed him to place his hands behind his back. Boomer attempted to pull his arm away as he started running northbound. Officers were able to maintain a grip on his arm while also grabbing his shirt, according to the report.

Boomer was detained and ultimately placed for arrest.

He was charged with for open container, falsification, and obstructing official business and was taken to jail.
