Groups: GFWC Women’s Club of Bowling Green

GFWC Women’s Club of Bowling Green will hold its next monthly meeting on Wednesday at First Christian Church at the corner of Poe and Haskins Road beginning at 6:30 p.m.

Program for the evening will highlight the Falcon Food Pantry, presented by Shannon Orr, Ph.D., director of Falcon Food & Resource Community, BGSU.

President Kim Roessner and members will begin the regular meeting with the Pledge of Allegiance, after which Dottie Linn will introduce music for the evening presented by students of BGSU College of Musical Arts. Kortnee Roessner will provide the evening’s inspiration.

October is Domestic Violence Awareness Month, the signature project of national GFWC clubs. Members are encouraged to wear purple in support and bring “spare change” for a collection to help residents of The Cocoon. Attendees will have the chance to write a note of encouragement to a Cocoon resident.

A brief business meeting will follow to update and plan ongoing club projects that continue thru the autumn months.

Committee Spotlights will include Norma Stickler highlighting Arts & Culture, and Carole Ballard highlighting the Linus Project. Roessner will report on the recent Fall Drive-Thru event, and Susan Enright will share an update on the annual Holiday Art & Craft Show scheduled for Nov. 9th at First United Methodist Church from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m.

Hostessses for the evening are Ballard, Lynne Comings, and Fern Kao. Designated charity for the evening is the Falcon Food Pantry; the club will make a donation of $200 to the organization on behalf of members.
