Senior center offers events, lunch and dinner

The following events will take place next week at the Wood County Senior Center.

MEALS

Lunch: Monday, meat and bean chili or ham and potato soup; Tuesday, macaroni and cheese and ham or chicken and dumplings; Wednesday, chipped turkey or bologna salad; Thursday, black eyed peas hash or turkey tetrazzini; Friday roast beef or pecan crusted tilapia

Dinner: Tuesday, ground beef tacos; Wednesday, sweet and sour chicken; Thursday, smoked sausage

*Dinner reservations must be made by 2 p.m. the day you wish to attend.

No person over 60 shall be denied nutrition services because of failure to contribute all or part of the cost. Participants shall determine for themselves what they are able to contribute. A $2 suggested donation is appreciated for home delivered meals. All payments can be mailed to: Wood County Senior Center, 140 S. Grove St., Bowling Green, OH 43402.

ADVANCED PLANNING

Fall concert with live music featuring Jack Schilb, guitarist from Northwest Ohio, on Oct. 8 from 4 to 5 p.m. at the Wood County Senior Center, 140 S. Grove St.

Schilb is a former member of the bluegrass band the “Diamonds in the Rough.” He’s been playing music in different genres for many years. Beginning with a rock and roll band during high school days, and moving to acoustic folk rock and an emphasis on songwriting throughout the college years. He is currently playing in an acoustic duo with blues harmonica player Dan “Mudfoot” Hubbs, playing occasionally with a group of fellow songwriters from Bowling Green called the “Long Lost Brothers,” working on a jazz / swing trio with an upright bassist and a trumpet player, and of course playing solo gigs.
