Robert Paul Williams, age 79, passed away peacefully on Saturday, September 21, 2024, with family by his side after a prolonged illness.

Born on January 12th, 1945, in Bucyrus, Ohio, he was the beloved son of the late Robert D. and Mary F. (Woerner) Williams.

Robert married Linda L. Cade on March 6, 1965, and she survives him. He is also survived by his daughters: Kathy (Gene) Kotowicz of Michigan and Stacy Stewart of Seymour, Tennessee. Robert leaves behind his brother Charles (Sheryl) of Cold Springs, Kentucky, and his sister Linda Perkins of Perrysburg, Ohio. He was a cherished grandfather to his grandchildren: Michael (Carrie) Barr, Elmore, Ohio; Justin (Caitlin) Barr, Oak Harbor; Ron (Miranda) Bowling Green; Mindy (William) Zilius, San Diego; Samantha (Kaleb) Middleton, Illinois; William Frederick, Bowling Green; Cody, Raelinn, Skylar and Olin of Jerry City. His legacy also lives on through his great-grandchildren, a great-great-granddaughter and many nieces, and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his sons Scott in 2023 and Ronald in 2021; and siblings: Gene, Janet, Donald, Danny, and Sharon

A proud native of Portage, Ohio, Robert worked for nearly 30 years as a local truck driver for T.E. Price Excavating in Bowling Green, where he built lasting friendships. He enjoyed fishing, camping and going to the races. He loved country music and playing guitar. In the 1970s and 80s he formed his band Country Revue along with his wife and they played throughout Northwest Ohio. Later coming out of retirement, Robert and Linda formed the family band, Forgotten Country, and continued making music until a few years ago.

In their later years, Robert and Linda began spending their winters in Zephyrhills, Florida, enjoying the warmth and the companionship of friends and fellow musicians. He will be remembered as a devoted husband, loving father, proud grandpa and passionate musician.

A memorial service will be held on October 12, 2024, from 3-6 p.m. at the community center in Rudolph, Ohio, where family and friends will gather to celebrate Robert’s life and share fond memories.
