Roche de Boeuf Festival is this weekend

There are many downtown Waterville activities planned during the Roche de Boeuf 51st annual celebration this weekend.

Friday: “Run de Boeuf,” a 5k and 1k Kids Race, will be held at Waterville’s Memorial Park/Parker Square at 1 South River Road. The 1K race starts at 6 p.m., with the 5k race following at 6:30 p.m. The event is being coordinated by Second Sole Racing, local Boy Scout Troop 101, and the City of Waterville. A “Pre-Fest Bash” begins at 8 p.m. at Waterville’s Memorial Park/Parker Square. Attendees can watch the “Run de Boeuf” race participants prior to this event and enjoy food and beverages. From 8 to 11 p.m., “The Red Carpet Crashers” band will perform. There is no entry fee for the event; however, cash only will be accepted to purchase drink tickets. Attendees must be 21 to purchase alcohol. The event, which is being hosted by The City of Waterville and the Fallen Timbers Family Recreation Club, will feature Al & Zoe’s Fat Boyz Food Truck. Folding chairs and blankets are encouraged for use during the free concert.

Saturday: The 51st annual Roche de Boeuf Festival will fill the downtown Waterville streets from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. At 10 a.m., attendees can watch the parade that will venture down Farnsworth Road to River Road. Throughout the day, the downtown area will feature local artisans and craft vendors, food trucks, interactive experiences, a car show, and a Children’s Area with bounce houses, bird house making, mascots Ariel and Captain America, and more. Live music and a beer garden will be available from noon to 5 p.m. at Memorial Park/Parker’s Square with area musical groups EZ Pickens from noon to 1 p.m., Bliss from 1:30 to 2:20 p.m., and Dusty Syns from 3 to 5 p.m.
