Local court leader receives national certification

Hartman

Wood County Court of Common Pleas Court Administrator Brandy Hartman, of Bowling Green, has graduated from the nationally recognized, Court Management Program of the Institute of Court Management of the National Center for State Courts (NCSC).

Margaret Allen Hoyt, director of academic programs with the National Center for State Courts (NCSC), addressed the 32 court administrators, clerks, magistrates, bailiffs, court reporter, and court navigator from 26 counties around Ohio who were selected out of a competitive pool of highly qualified applicants. Those accepted into the program committed three years to advanced study of caseflow, workforce management, court performance measures, fiscal management, and project management.

The course of study is extensive and improves the performance of courts and access to justice for members of the community.

In addition to enhancing knowledge and experience at the court, the class develops relationships with other court leaders from across the state and country.

According to Hartman, “the connections I’ve made will be invaluable—not only for myself but also for my community—for many years to come.”

Graduates received the national certified court manager credential.

Hartman has been a member of the Ohio Association for Court Administration as well as the Ohio Jury Management Association since 2020. In January of 2024, she was appointed by Chief Justice of the Supreme Court of Ohio Sharon Kennedy to serve on the Supreme Court’s Advisory Committee on Case Management.
