Ernest Charles “Ernie” Bockbrader, age 92, of Bowling Green, Ohio passed away peacefully on September 19, 2024 at Heritage Corner Health Care in Bowling Green, Ohio.
He was born on November 29, 1931 in Wood County to the late Henry & Josephine (Aufdencamp) Bockbrader. He married Dura Grace Vaughn on August 10, 1985 in Reidsville, North Carolina and she passed away on March 14, 2024.
Surviving is his son, Hugh Bockbrader of North Baltimore, Ohio; daughters, Judy (Charlie Aurand) Rosendale of Wayne, Ohio, Jana (Doug) Miller of Pemberville, Ohio; grandchildren, Kristin (Joe) Tillison, Kyle (Brooke) Rosendale, Chad Miller, Craig Miller, Crystal (Liz) Miller; great-grandchildren, Elsie, Emmie, Camden, Karly, Jarret & Phoenix.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Henry & Josephine; brother, Evan Bockbrader.
Ernie was a 1949 graduate of Montgomery Township High School. He was a farmer and the director of manufacturing for Equity Group Ohio Division in North Baltimore, Ohio and then transferred to Reidsville, North Carolina where he eventually retired.
He was a member of the Stump Sound Masonic Lodge in Sneads Ferry, North Carolina and the Oasis Shriner’s in North Carolina where he was a Keystone Cops Driver for 4 years. In April 2023 he was honored with an endowed membership in the masonic lodge. He was a member of the Barlow Vista Baptist Church in Hampstead, North Carolina & attended Hope Lutheran Church near Bowling Green, Ohio.
He enjoyed playing solitaire but his greatest joy was spending time with his family & friends.
A graveside Celebration of Life service will be held at 2:30 p.m. Friday (September 27, 2024) at Graham Cemetery near Wayne, Ohio with Pastor Ron Merritt officiating.
Friends will be received from 2-2:30 p.m. Friday just prior to the service at Graham Cemetery and the family has asked for everyone attending to please dress casual.
