Marlene K. Glick

Marlene K. Glick, 80, of Bowling Green, Ohio passed away on Thursday September 19, 2024.

She was born on December 13, 1943, to the late Halden and Hilda (Chubb) Booth in Warren, Ohio. She married Thomas Glick on July 7, 1966, and he survives in Bowling Green.

Marlene had a calling to teach. Marlene spent 32 years as a high school home economics teacher at Bellevue, Start, Elmwood, and Bowling Green Senior High School. She also briefly taught at Bowling Green State University. She first retired from teaching in 1999 and settled in Sunset Beach, North Carolina. Marlene’s lifelong love of teaching brought her out of retirement to teach again at Horry County Schools, South Carolina.

Professionally, personally, and socially, Marlene was the consummate teacher and organizer.

In Bowling Green, Marlene was a member of St. Aloysius Catholic Church, BGSU Falcon Club, University Women’s Club, Chi Omega Sorority, The Bowling Green Country Club, and The Ohio Teachers Association. In Sunset Beach, NC she w as past president and a member of the garden club and the gourmet club at Sea Trail. In Lauderdale-by-the-Sea, FL she was past president and a member of the Women’s Club at the Caribe.

Along with her loving husband, Tom, Marlene is survived by her son Kevin (Rebecca Hatcher) Glick of New Haven, Connecticut.

She was preceded in death by her parents and brothers Halden and Wendell Booth.

A visitation for Marlene will be held on Tuesday, September 24, 2024, from 4 p.m. to 7 p.m. at Dunn Funeral Home located in the Historical District of Bowling Green, Ohio at 408 W. Wooster St.

A mass of Christian Burial will be held on Wednesday, September 25, 2024, at 10 a.m. St. Aloysius Catholic Church, located at 150 S. Enterprise Street, Bowling Green. Father Tom McQuillen will officiate.

Interment will be held at Oak Grove Cemetery at 1 p.m. Wednesday, September 25, 2024.
