CLYDE — Eastwood, Otsego and Lake all finished among the top five at the Northern Buckeye Conference Championship in boys golf on Tuesday at Green Hills Golf Course.
Eastwood, led by First Team All-NBC selections Easton Speck and Daryn Hoy, shot a 333 as a team and finished just two strokes behind Genoa for the title. Otsego (347) and Lake (356) finished third and fourth, while Rossford’s 389 was good for seventh in the eight-team field.
Genoa won the program’s third consecutive championship.
Speck took home the top individual honor at the NBC Championship as his 74 beat out Genoa’s Isaac Ewersen and Caleb Klatt by five strokes for first place. Hoy tied his teammate, Parker Bengry, with an 86, which gave the duo an eighth-place finish.
Otsego’s Wes Kellermeier (81) and Lake’s Will Perry (86) joined those golfers in earning a spot on the First Team All-NBC squad, which takes regular season points into account.
At the NBC Championship, Kellermeier finished fourth individually, while Perry came in eighth.
Eastwood’s Drew Kachmarik, who finished 11th at the NBC Championship with an 87, landed a Second Team All-NBC spot. In fact, he was the only Wood County golfer on that squad.
Bengry, Lake’s Cooper Heckman and Otsego’s Tommy Makowski and Brandan Hillyard were all on the Honorable Mention All-NBC squad.
Klatt was named the NBC Golfer of the Year, which includes regular season performance.
Rossford was led by Blake Odenweller (93) and Quinton Borden (94) on Tuesday as the duo finished the tournament 29th and 30th respectively.
