Janet L. Richardson, 83, of Pemberville, passed away on Saturday, September 7, 2024 at Mercy St. Vincent Medical Center in Toledo.

She was born in Toledo, OH on August 11, 1941, to Leo and Katheryn (Keenan) McStay. Janet later graduated high school from St. Ursula Academy. She married Edwin Richardson on June 26, 1965, at St. Thomas Catholic Church, Toledo, OH.

Janet and Ed raised 3 children and celebrated nearly 47 years of marriage together before Ed’s death in June of 2012.

Early in Janet’s career, she worked as a party planner, and later Laselle’s. In 1976 Janet and her husband Ed purchased Stony Ridge KOA Campgrounds, and retired after 32 years of ownership when they sold the campgrounds in 2008.

She was a member of St. Jerome’s Catholic Church in Walbridge, OH. Her ministries included singing in the choir and spending time with “Threads of Hope.” Janet was a past Board Member and President of the Ohio KOA Owners Association. She enjoyed traveling, attending the lady’s bunko group, and going to shows at the Stranahan Theatre. Her greatest joy was spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren.

Janet is survived by her children: Michael Richardson of Stony Ridge, Gina Richardson of Maumee and Jay (Annette) Richardson of Luckey. Grandchildren: Devonta, Shana, Vanity, Sharika, Cortasha, and 4 great-grandchildren. Sister, Margaret Shryock of IN, and sister-in-law, Carol Molnar of Oregon.

In addition to her husband Ed, she was preceded in death by her parents, sisters, Mary Pakulski, Patricia Mehlman, and brother, Leo McStay Jr.

Family and friend will be received 4-7 p.m. Thursday, September 12, 2024 at the Marsh & Marsteller Funeral Home, 4094 State Route 105 Pemberville, OH.

A Funeral Mass will be 11 a.m. Friday, September 13, 2024 at St. Jerome Catholic Church, 300 Warrner St., Walbridge, OH. There will be a time of additional visitation at the church from 10 a.m., until the time of the Funeral Mass. Celebrant will be Fr. Michael Bialorucki.

Committal will be in Troy Township Cemetery, Luckey, OH

In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorials take the form of contributions to: Pemberville Freedom Fire Dept. Association or Humane Ohio.
