Eastwood inks MUOs with BGSU

PEMBERVILLE — The Eastwood Board of Education began the 2024-2025 school year on Aug. 20.

The board met on Aug. 19 and approved a Memorandum of Understanding with Bowling Green State University College of Education and Human Development in regards to student teachers.

“BGSU just lays out what each party does for student teachers, so it is straightforward,” said Brent Welker, superintendent. “We are looking forward to another good school year.”

Also at the meeting, the board:

• Approved Jeff Hill as an athletic director support person at $25 per hour on an as-needed basis.

• Approved a three-year administrative contract for Melissa Wagoner, director of Students Services and Curriculum and preschool supervisor, effective Aug. 1, 2025-July 31, 2028.

• Accepted the resignation of elementary head cook Tammie Dennis, effective Aug. 31.

• Approved the 2024-25 Children’s Learning Center STARS before and after school program.

• Approved a Memorandum of Understanding with Wood County Children’s Services Association/Children’s Resource Center.

The next board meeting will be on Sept. 16 at 6 p.m. at the Eastwood Administrative Office.
