Bowling Green Police were dispatched Wednesday to the 1500 block of Clough Street for an assault.

When officers arrived around 6:19 p.m., they spoke with the caller who appeared to be intoxicated with an open alcoholic beverage in hand, according to the Bowling Green Police Division report.

The caller, identified as Charles Jones, told police that a male juvenile had gotten in between him and a female during a verbal argument. He explained that he chest bumped the juvenile male in order to get him out of his face before being assaulted by an unidentified male.

Jones said he lost his taser in the process, according to the report.

Jones stated that he was threatened by the unidentified male, who allegedly said he “had nothing to lose.”

Officers then spoke to a group of people outside who witnessed the incident.

The group told officers that Jones had been making threats to their neighbor, brandishing a taser and threatened to use it on them. One of the witnesses gave officers the taser that fell out of Jones’ pocket.

Officers then spoke to the female that Jones was arguing with, who stated that Jones came to her residence earlier that day and threated her twice with his taser. After the unidentified male intervened, Jones told him that he had a had a shotgun at his residence and was “ready to use it,” according to the report.

Jones, 36, Bowling Green, was cited for aggravated menacing and was taken to jail.
