BG Chamber relaunches High School Leadership BG

0

The Bowling Green Chamber of Commerce has announced the relaunch of the High School Leadership BG program with Bowling Green High School. The program, which has been on hiatus since the beginning of the COVID-19 pandemic, is designed with one underlying idea: the betterment of our future starts with the education and development of the youth today.

High School Leadership BG has seen over 300 graduates since its inception in 2000.

Students accepted into the program for the 2024-2025 year will engage in a variety of hands-on lessons meant to develop their leadership skills. These range from team-building activities and informative tours to a community service project and many lessons about leadership, active listening, communication and more.

Over the course of seven months, the students will be challenged to become better leaders in their school, home, and community. Leadership BG sessions are during the school day, one day a month, for seven months (October, November, January, February, March, April, and graduation luncheon in May).

Participation in this program is free and open to junior- and senior-level students from Bowling Green High School. The BG Chamber of Commerce will facilitate the program and cover all costs associated.

Interested students and families are asked to request an application from their BGHS guidance counselor; applications should be returned to Principal Dan Black no later than Oct. 7. The application is also available on the chambers website at www.bgchamber.net/leadership/.

Class size is limited, making this a competitive opportunity and great resume builder for college applications.
