MILLBURY — The Lake Township Board of Trustees has awarded a road paving bid to the Bowers Asphalt & Paving.

The company will be improving Bradner Road from Ayers Road to Ohio 579. The project, which is one mile, will cost $274,485.

“That will be a good project,” said Chairwoman Melanie Bowen-Greenwald at Tuesday’s trustee meeting. “Bowers was the lowest bid and they usually do a good job for us. I think that will be a nice project for us.”

The board also adopted the final version of the Wood County Hazard Mitigation Plan of 2024 as approved by the Ohio Emergency Management Agency (OEMA) and the Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA).

The mitigation plan identifies mitigation goals and actions to reduce or eliminate long-term risks to people and property in Wood County from the impacts of future hazards and disasters.

Trustees also announced that on Sept. 14, the Village of Millbury will celebrate its 150th anniversary and that free woodchips are available at the Road Department on Ayers Road. Call 419-836-1143

The next board meeting will be held on Sept. 3 at 5:30 p.m. in the Administration Hall.
