Harold V. Freeworth, born on August 13, 1937, in Toledo, Ohio, passed away peacefully on August 14, 2024, in Grand Rapids, Ohio, at the age of 87.

Harold was the beloved son of the late Albert John Freeworth and Audrey (Brown) Freeworth.

He was preceded in death by his devoted wife, Betty (George) Freeworth, her daughter Debbie McColley, his son Robert V. “Bob” Freeworth, and his sister Wilma Jennings. His best friend and companion, Fran Huffman, and Janice Wade, the mother of Harold W. and Robert V. “Bob” Freeworth, also preceded him in death.

Harold is survived by his loving children, Harold W. (Kim) Freeworth and Teena (Steve) Kistner. He was a proud grandfather to Brock, Brittani, Brianne, Hillary, Mandon, Mallory, and Heather, and a great-grandfather to six. He is also survived by his brother, Junior (Jane) Freeworth.

A lifelong farmer, Harold was deeply rooted in the Grand Rapids community. He graduated from Grand Rapids High School in 1955 and was an active member of several organizations, including the Napoleon Moose Lodge, Maumee Elks, Grand Rapids Legion, and Masonic Lodge 289, Grand Rapids. Harold was a Mason as well as a member of the Toledo Shriners. He enjoyed spending time with his family, wintering in Florida, and visiting casinos any chance he could.

Visitation for Harold will be held at First Presbyterian Church in Grand Rapids on Tuesday, August 20, 2024, from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m., followed by a service. Interment will take place immediately after at Mt. Pleasant Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, contributions can be made to First Presbyterian Church.
