The Bowling Green State University volleyball team will host their third annual Dream Big event on Saturday, August 24.

The event is set to begin at 6 p.m. in the Schmidthorst Heritage Hall. Doors will open at 5 p.m. with facility tours and hors d’oeuvres available. Registration deadline to RSVP is set for Monday, August 19.

Steve Iwanek, the 2023 radio voice of BGSU volleyball and BGSU graduate, will be the emcee for the event while Hannah Best, a 2023 graduate and captain of the team, will be the keynote speaker. The fundraising focus of this year’s event is to complete the renovation of the team’s locker room.

“We cannot emphasize enough how much the support of our Falcon community means to our team,” said BGSU coach Danijela Tomic.

“The Dream Big fundraiser is more than just an event — it’s a crucial part of building the future of BGSU volleyball. We are making August 24th a full day of volleyball, starting with an exciting exhibition match at noon where you can see our new 2024 team in action.

“Your presence and contributions directly impact our student-athletes, helping them chase their dreams on and off the court. Let’s come together, show our Falcon pride, and make a difference that will propel BG volleyball to new heights. We can’t do it without you.”

Dream Big will once again have live auction and silent auction items for bidding. Live auction items are set to include dinner for four cooked by Coach Tomic, a day with the coaches, travel with the team for two to the match against Ohio State on Sept. 22 and Amanda Otten’s brownies.

As for the silent auction, items will include collector plates made by the team and coaches, a home Match Day experience against Ohio State on Sept. 20, a speaking engagement for Coach Tomic and two courtside season tickets.
