Don Kepling

Don Kepling, 83, of Findlay formerly of North Baltimore, went to be with his Lord and Savior on Saturday, August 10, 2024 in his home surrounded by his loving family.

Don was born on July 10, 1941 in rural Hancock County to Harold and Bernice Kepling. On September 17, 1961 he married his high school sweetheart Sherry (Zeller) Kepling and they shared 62 years wonderful years together.

He is survived by his wife Sherry along with four children: Dale (Sandy) Kepling, North Baltimore, Donna Kepling (Scott Miller), Findlay, Tim (Kim) Kepling, Medina, Joe (Ronda) Kepling, North Baltimore, eight grandchildren Derek (Shelby) Kepling, Austin Kepling, all of North Baltimore, Gabriele Kepling, of Columbus, Roger South III (Erin Wells), of Fostoria, Michael (Mallory) South, of Fort Drum , New York, Andy Kepling, of Minneapolis, Minnesota, Allison and Gunner Kepling, of North Baltimore; a special friend Drew (Crystal) DeVore who he considered his grandson; ten great-grandchildren and a brother Steve (Janet) Kepling of McComb.

He is preceded in death by his parents and a brother Ron Kepling.

Don graduated from McComb High School in 1959 and Andrew Barber College in 1960. He served his apprenticeship at Bert’s Barbershop in Findlay before opening his own shop in North Baltimore in March of 1962. In December of 2009, Don retired and closed his shop. Don was one of the original EMS members in North Baltimore. Don was a caring and compassionate individual and used those abilities to serve those during their time of need.

He worked at Hare Funeral Home in North Baltimore, Coldren-Crates Funeral Home in Findlay and North Baltimore, and Hanneman Funeral Home in Findlay and McComb. He also worked for 19 years at Blanchard Valley Hospital. Don hobbies included gardening, yard work and working in his flowers. Don also enjoyed reading a good book.

He and Sherry enjoyed many vacations in Florida, going on Caribbean cruises, Hawaii, Branson, Pigeon Forge, Amish Country, California, South Carolina, Memphis, and Oklahoma. He also enjoyed spending time with family and friends. He attended Basic Truth Church, Cygnet.

Visitation for Don will be on Tuesday, August 13, 2024 from 3:00-7 p.m. in the Basic Truth Church, 12389 Tank Farm Rd., Cygnet, Ohio 43413. Additional visitation will be on Wednesday, August 14, 2024 9:30 until time for his Celebration of Life Service at 10:30 a.m. in the church, with Pastor Jim Baney officiating. Burial will follow at McComb Union Cemetery.

Arrangements have been entrusted with his dear friend Drew DeVore and the Stombaugh-Batton & Snyder Funeral Home, Carey.
