Rossford Business Associations Hosts Annual Riverfest Celebration

ROSSFORD — Residents and visitors alike are invited to enjoy an evening of family-friendly festivities at Rossford’s annual Riverfest on Saturday at Veterans Memorial Park, 300 Hannum Ave., from 6-11 p.m.

Rossford’s Riverfest, free and open to the public, will feature a pierogi eating contest, inflatables, dunk tank, beer, food trucks, Polka music by the Duane Malinowski Orchestra from 6-8 p.m. and rock tunes by the Dos Dudes band from 8:30-11 p.m. The evening will also feature ethnic food Rossford has become known for, presented by All Saints Catholic Church. Food selections include homemade pierogi, kielbasa, stuffed cabbage, pulled pork sandwiches, and kolache.

“Riverfest is a great way to celebrate our city and the end of summer,” said Toby Ledesma, director of Rossford’s Parks and Recreation. “We end the evening with a spectacular fireworks show which people can watch right here in Veterans Park.”

Riverfest will feature the city’s second annual Pierogi Eating Contest at 8 p.m. Contestants will have 3 minutes to devour as many All Saints pierogi as possible. Winners in both the male and female division will receive a $125 cash prize. Those interested in participating in the Pierogi Eating Contest can register online at https://forms.gle/JAJov6uRsBAsJ4919.

Shuttle buses will be available at Rossford High School, All Saints Catholic Church, and the former Indian Hills School to transport visitors to Veterans Park.
