Christine Sexton, 82, long time resident of Bowling Green Ohio, passed from this life Saturday, August 3, 2024.

Chris was preceded in death by her parents Tom and Rita (nee Beuchat) Sexton and her sister Fran Sexton (Bob) Stimmel.

She is survived by siblings, Janne (Scott) Taubman (Phoenix, AZ.), Madalene Sexton Coleman (North Canton, OH), Barbara Sexton Wilson (Brunswick, OH), Todd (Pam) Sexton (Taylors, SC), Elizabeth (Michael) Gaydos (Cleveland, OH) and David Sexton (Port St. Lucie, FL). She had many wonderful nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews.

Born in Stark County, Ohio, she graduated from North Canton Hoover High School. She attended Bowling Green State University and earned her Bachelor and Master degrees in Business Administration-Management Accounting. While attending school, Chris began working for various departments at the university, including Food Service and Internal Auditing. These experiences led her to become the Business Manager at WBGU –TV for many years during which time she participated in the production of TV documentaries and was a member of the PBS Pinnacle Society. She retired in 2001 after which she spent many years working with the BGSURA Retirement Assoc. as Class Staff Council.

Christine was an avid horsewoman for many years as well as being an enthusiastic gardener. She loved hockey and held season tickets to support the Bowling Green University Falcons hockey team rarely missing a home game. She was a talented woodworker earning awards for several of her handmade pieces. She enjoyed traveling with her friends and family making trips to Ireland, England, Spain, France, Morocco, Canada, Alaska and many other places.

Chris had a wry sense of humor and took her role as “The Oldest Person in the Family” quite serious. She never missed an opportunity to remind her family she was older and wiser than all of them. She was a great support and contributor to her community, beloved by many people. She was quite simply a wonderful sister and friend.

Donations may be made in her name to the American Cancer Society or WBGU-TV.

A celebration of life gathering will be announced at a later date. Funeral arrangements have been entrusted to Dunn Funeral Home in Bowling Green.
