PERRYSBURG — The Guild of Artists & Artisans, producers of the world-renowned Ann Arbor Summer Art Fair, have partnered with Visit Perrysburgto bring the inaugural Perrysburg Hearts the Arts fine art fair.

This event showcasing the beauty and diversity of artistic talents and local musicians will take place on Aug. 16-18. Located in Perrysburg’s Historic Downtown, the fair will showcase 80-plus artists, live music, food trucks, and kids activities, and will be free to the public.

This inaugural fair is produced by the nonprofit organization The Guild of Artists and Artisans which also produces seven other fine art fairs for a total of nine fairs which take place across southeast Michigan and into Ohio. For the past 19 years up to 2023, The Guild produced the Levis Commons Fine Art Fair located at the Levis Commons Town Center in Perrysburg, and the organization is excited to continue supporting the artistic community of the Greater Toledo area.

The Guild also manages the Gutman Gallery in downtown Ann Arbor. The Guild has been helping raise community awareness, understanding and appreciation of the visual arts and to maintain a support network for artists for more than 50 years.

The participating artists are jury-selected and include jewelry, ceramics, painting, glass, photography, fiber and more. The featured artwork for this year’s event is created by Sang Man Kim (Booth 18), a painter who has previously participated in the local Levis Commons Fine Art Fair as well as The Guild’s prestigious Ann Arbor Summer Art Fair. There will be several local and regional artists, including Pamela Day (sculpture, from Wixom, MI, Booth 38) and Bee Crane (paper/printmaking, from Eaton Township, OH, Booth 98).

In addition to the many talented artists selling their work throughout the weekend, Visit Perrysburg has booked 12 live music acts for the event’s stage, including Saturday night headliner Sanctus Real. Food trucks at the event will offer a variety of eats, from sweets, BBQ, Mexican street food and more. The event will also include fun for the whole family with the kids zone, supported by Lakeside Interior Contractors, and entertainment available.

“We are absolutely thrilled to host Hearts the Arts in downtown Perrysburg,” said Joshua Johnson, executive director of Visit Perrysburg. “This event not only highlights the incredible talent of local and regional artists but also contributes to the economic growth of Perrysburg. With the number of expected visitors to this particular event opens other opportunities to visit other creative stores and shops in our downtown area such as Angel 101, Rae Ray’s Decor & More and Create Art Studio & Workshop”
