Bowling Green police were dispatched Saturday to the 1000 block of North Prospect Street for a report of a storage unit being broken into.

When officers arrived around 9:38 a.m., they spoke with the owner, who stated that the storage unit in question was secure on July 29 and was broken into that morning, according to the Bowling Green Police Division report.

Entry was gained by cutting off the padlocks. The padlocks and contents of the storage unit were removed, according to the report.

The owner told police that the last renter of the unit was $1,100.00 behind on rent and that the items stored in the unit appeared to be books and comic books in storage totes. The owner provided a copy of the contract for the police, according to the report.

Officers could not get ahold of the renter, according to the report.
