Full pull – for the kids

The Wood County Fairgrounds hosted the Pedal Pull event on Friday at the Sheep Arena.

Kids from all over the community had the opportunity to participate in this year’s event, pedaling a tricycle that can carry up to 50 pounds. A large crowd of people gathered to cheer on the competition.

“I’ve been doing the Pedal Pull for two years now. My friends also participated in the Pedal Pull. I got first place last year,” said Cade Eckel, of Tontogany. “You have to pedal as hard as you can without stopping. I got first place again this year. I like everything about the Pedal Pull and will do it again next year.”

The Wood County Board of Developmental Disabilities facilitated the event.

“This is so much fun for us. It’s one of our favorite events of the year. It’s all by measurement, so whatever they pedal is what they get for the pull,” said Linda Cox, WBCDD early intervention service and support administrator. “The Action Club loves to be out here in the community. It’s one of their favorite events of the year. They love being part of the fair and amongst the people.”
