The Wood County Board of Developmental Disabilities held a “Let Your Abilities Shine” event Thursdayat the Wood County Fair.

This is the first year that the fair and the WCBDD have worked together.

“It is a unique relationship but an amazing relationship,” said Charese Botjer, WCBDD communications and community engagement manager. “We created a day called ‘Let Your Abilities Shine.’ We’re putting on so many different fun activities that are inclusive for everyone to come in and join.

“We’re super excited about the relationship we’ve built and look forward to continuing to provide this opportunity for the future,” she said.

Guests had the opportunity to participate in arts and crafts, ring toss, toy animal races, yard games, and more.

“A lot of people come to events like this and they get the opportunity to do all of the things that they want to do,” Botjer said. “When we’re working together as a community to provide days like this, it is a big win for us.”
