Augustine “Tina” Martini, 82, of Bowling Green, Ohio passed away on August 1, 2024 surrounded by her family.

She was born January 1, 1942 in East Cleveland to the late Otto and Helen (Staba) Coppola.

Tina brought heaven to earth. She was the kindest soul and her compassion is her legacy. Tina was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother and sister. She had a passion for history, education and writing.

Tina graduated from Parma Senior High School in 1960 and went on to obtain her Bachelor’s Degree in Education from BGSU in 1964 where she met her “Falcon Flame” Joe. They were married on June 15, 1968 (the same day as Tina’s parents) and settled in Bowling Green, OH.

Tina taught junior high English and Social Studies in Parma and at Maumee and Bowling Green City Schools until 1970. She then went on to work in the Office of Registration and Records at BGSU and later became Director of Transfer Evaluation Services at BGSU until her retirement in 2001.

She was a longtime member of the Potpourri Chapter (BG) of the American Business Women’s Association and was twice named Chapter Woman of the Year. She volunteered for many organizations, including Bowling Green City Schools, the Foxgate Condo Association, BGSU Retiree Associations, BGSU University Women, St. Thomas More University Parish, Wood County Historical Society, Wood County Park District, Black Swamp Arts Festival and Wood County Hospital.

Along with her husband of 56 years, Joe, Tina is survived her daughters Julie (Kevin Mercer) Martini and Jacki (Cory) Fairbanks, grandchildren Ashley (Seth) Mehan, Marissa Blankenship, Trevor Blankenship, Yarin Mercer, Sophia Mercer and Reagan Fairbanks, great-grandchildren Jordayna, August, Adreyan and Boston, sister Rosemarie (Wayne) Arnold and brother Gus (Karen) Coppola.

Visitation will be held on Wednesday, August 7, 2024 from 4-7 p.m. at Dunn Funeral Home, located in the Historical District of Bowling Green at 408 W. Wooster St.

Her funeral service will be held on Thursday, August 8, 2024 at 11 a.m. at St. Thomas More University Parish, 425 Thurstin St., Bowling Green, Ohio 43402.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be given to The Martini Family Scholarship Fund, c/o The BGSU Foundation, Mileti Alumni Center, 134 Mercer Road, BG, OH 43402; or St. Thomas More Endowment Fund, 425 Thurstin St., BG, OH 43402.
