Aaron Damron, 62, of Risingsun, Ohio passed away peacefully to be with Our Lord Jesus, surrounded by his family on Saturday, July 27, 2024.

Aaron was a beloved husband, father, grandfather, son, brother, and friend. Aaron’s memory was and will continue to be honored by his family and friends who have loved, prayed and supported him through his illness.

Aaron was a good Christian man, with a strong faith in God. He stayed faithful to God and was patiently waiting for a miracle. He was a true warrior in the fight against his cancer. Aaron was diagnosed with Liposarcoma Cancer on July 22, 2020. He was a very strong man, he never complained, and fought a very long, hard and courageous battle to try to overcome his cancer. Unfortunately, his body was tired of fighting for so long. The family would like to thank The James Cancer Hospital, Dr. Liebner and all the nurses for the great care Aaron received.

He was born on March 3, 1962 in Bowling Green to Sterling and Mary (Camp) Damron.

Aaron was a 1981 graduate of Eastwood High School and Penta Career Center. Through the years, he had various jobs. He worked previously at The Budd Co. and most recently for Heinz in their Maintenance Department. During his years working at Heinz, he received his Journeyman’s Card. Aaron was an avid car lover. He liked tinkering and working on cars, and could fix anything. Aaron also loved bowling, golfing and fishing. But most important to Aaron was spending time with his loving family.

Aaron and Lesa have been together for 30 years and were married on June 28, 2013. He married Lesa (Meyers) Soncrant, his best friend, one true love and soulmate at Trinity Methodist Church in Gibsonburg.

Aaron leaves behind many friends, family members, nieces, nephews, cousins, aunts and uncles who love and will miss him dearly. Left to cherish Aaron’s memory is his wife, Lesa Damron of Risingsun, Ohio; parents, Sterling & Mary Damron of Pemberville; children: Jena (Brian) Smith of Helena and Tory Damron of Medina, Ohio; stepchildren: Katrina (Dave) Becerra of Woodville and Erik Soncrant of California; and grandchildren: Charlee and Bruce Smith; Isabella, Olivia, Calvin, Edith, Evelyn Damron; and Dylan, Karys, Aubrey, and Alexys Becerra. He cherished his role as a husband, father, stepfather and grandfather. Also surviving are his brothers: Clayton (Patricia) Damron of South Carolina and Brian Damron of Pemberville; and sister, Lisa (Robert) Boyer of Pemberville.

He was preceded in death by his stepson, Aaron Dix.

Visitation will be held on Tuesday, August 6, 2024 from 3-8 p.m. at the Herman-Veh Funeral Home & Crematory, Gibsonburg. Funeral services will be held at the funeral home on Wednesday, August 7th at 2 p.m. with an additional hour of visitation held prior to the start of the service.

Burial will be at West Union Cemetery, Gibsonburg, Ohio at a later time.

In honor of Aaron those attending are encouraged to wear his favorite color green, a marvel character, superhero or fishing shirt.

Memorials may be made in the care of his wife Lesa Damron.
