Members of local fire departments who were recognized for their years of service pose for a group photo during the Firefighters Years of Service Recognition ceremony Sunday at the Wood County Fair.
Today is Senior Day and Quilt Day at the Wood County Fair.
Quilt Show entries are accepted until 10 a.m. in the Pavilion Conference Room. The Quilt Show opens at 11 a.m. with demontrations at 1:30 p.m., 2:30 p.m. and 3:30 p.m.
Senior musical acts will perform at 9 a.m. with donuts and coffee, 10 a.m., 11 a.m., 12:45 p.m. and 1:45 p.m. in the Free Tent.
Activities include chainsaw carving shows, shark and stingray encounter and Sheriff Stretch traveling the grounds.
Also planned:
8 a.m. – Gates open
8:30 a.m. – County barn and raised swine show in the Pavilion Show Arena
9 a.m. – Tractor operators contest in the infield
9 a.m. – Junior fair horse English show in the Horse Arena
Noon – Junior fair rabbit show in the Rabbit Barn
2 p.m. – Story Time in the Fine Arts Building
3 p.m. – Rides open
4:30 p.m. – Barn games in the Free Tent
5 p.m. – Harness racing at the Grandstands
5 p.m. – Junior fair sheep showmanship/market lamb/crossbred breeding sheep show in the Pavilion Show Arena
6-8 p.m. – Northwest Ohio Woodworkers Guild demonstration in the Fine Arts Building
7 p.m. – Dodge ball in the Horse Arena
7-10 p.m. – Blue Brothers Tribute Band on the Grove Stage
11 p.m. Fairground closes
