The first place winner in the Adult Nutcracker Collection category is seen during the fine arts judging on Friday at the Wood County Fairgrounds.
The 2024 Wood County Fair has started.
Today is Veterans/First Responders Day with free admission for veterans, active-duty military and first responders.
No rides are operating today.
Today’s activities include the junior fair parade and crowing of the junior fair queen and king.
Events also include coloring contest intake in the Grange Building until noon and flower show intake in the Home and Garden Building until 2 p.m.
Baking judging will take place in the Home and Garden Building at noon followed by coloring contest judging at 1 in the Grange Building.
The junior fair horse fun show will take place in the Horse Arena at 2 p.m.
Flower show judging will start at 2:30 while the baked goods auction will take place at 5, both in the Home and Garden Building.
Harness racing will start at noon in the Grandstand.
The Woodworkers Guild will conduct a demonstration from 6-8 p.m. in the Fine Arts Building.
Tonight’s activities in front of the Grandstand will start at 5:30 with the Post Everlasting program at 5:30 followed by the Firefighter’s Years of Service recognition at 6. The junior fair parade will start at 7 along with opening ceremonies.
The junior fair queen and king will be crowned at 7:30.
The fairgrounds will close at 11 p.m.
