HOUSTON — The Houston Dash of the National Women’s Soccer League have signed former Bowling Green State University standout Madi Wolfbauer to a National Team Replacement Contract, the team announced on Friday afternoon.

Wolfbauer recently led the North Carolina Courage to the final of The Soccer Tournament 2024 and won the Women’s Golden Boot. She scored five goals in that tournament and was named to the TST Women’s Best Seven team.

The 24-year-old began her professional career in Europe, splitting time between France and Iceland in 2022. Wolfbauer signed for Thonon Evian Grand Genève FC in France at the start of 2022 and finished the year in Iceland with ÍBV-íþróttafélag.

She inked with Keflavík ÍF the following year where she finished with 23 appearances as a defender for the team and scored two goals.

Wolfbauer, a native of Canton, Mich., was named the Mid-American Conference Offensive Player of the Year in the fall of 2021, and was named to the All-MAC First Team for the second time in as many playing seasons with the Falcons.

She was named to the United Soccer Coaches All-Region Team that fall, in the process becoming the first two-time all-region first-team selection in BGSU history.

Wolfbauer had 10 goals and 22 points to pace BG in both categories in that 2021 season, and she tied the school record by scoring at least one goal in five consecutive matches. She had 14 points on seven goals in MAC games, and she led the league in goals, points, goals per game, points per game, shots and shots per game in conference contests.

Wolfbauer had five game-winning goals on the season, just one shy of the school record. She recorded 15 goals and 32 points in just 29 career matches at BGSU.

Wolfbauer played two seasons with the Falcons, and helped the team to MAC championships and NCAA Championships appearances in both seasons. A two-time All-MAC First-Team selection, she was also named to the MAC’s All-Tournament Team in her final season.

Wolfbauer will wear number 29 with the Dash, and she will be eligible for Saturday’s (July 20) game against the Kansas City Current.
