There is no day of show entry for the 2024 Wood County Flower Show.
For the first time, entry registration must be submitted to the fair office at least two days prior to the shows.
We have had excellent Wood County Flower Shows for many years and we hope we can count on our Wood County gardeners to keep it going. In order to do that we need everyone to be informed of this new pre-registration requirement and to spread the word, according to Audrey Palumbo, flower show assistant chairperson.
In addition, help getting two shows set up and taken down is in critical need this year. Previously, the members of the Wood County garden clubs did that work but there are only three clubs still active at the fair. Help is needed in the Home and Garden Building:
• July 27, 8:30-10 a.m. for clean up and set up. This includes setting up the tables, putting on the plastic table coverings and filling the water containers plus other jobs.
• July 31, 8-9 p.m. to clean-up of first show and set-up of second show. Remove all the flowers from the first show, clean the tables, empty and refill all the water containers.
• Aug. 4, 8-:9:30 a.m. Clean up. Remove all the flowers, empty all the water bottles and gather all the class dividers and identification holders and put them away. Remove all the table coverings, clean off the tables and plant risers and put them away. Fold the tables and put them in a stack for storage.
