June E. Blackman, age 73, of Napoleon, Ohio, formerly of Bradner, passed away on Tuesday, July 16, 2024, after a long battle with debilitating rheumatoid arthritis.

In all the years of pain, June always had a smile on her face and made many so happy.

She was born on July 24, 1950, in Toledo to the late John & June (Carr) Smith Tingley. June married Reginald J. Blackman on January 28, 1971, in Toledo.

Surviving June is her loving husband of 53 years, Reggie; sons, Timothy Blackman of Climax, MI, David Blackman of Napoleon, OH; daughter Joy (Bob) Cook of Walbridge, OH; siblings, James (Debra) Tingley, of Oregon, Jerry (Linda) Tingley of Toledo, Jeff (Gay) Tingley of Northwood, Melvin Tingley of Elmore, Violet (Ralph) White of Mentor, Royan (Dave) Kaylor of Elmore, Elvira (Allen Hartenstein) Talmage of Genoa, Iona (Randy) Shammo of Graytown; and 7 grandchildren, Jaron Nestor-Blackman, Madison (Nate) Sampsell, Logan Blackman, Hannah Blackman, Briahanna Phillips, Ryder Cook, Blake Blackman.

She was preceded in death by her parents, John & June; brother, John; and sister, Joy.

June attended Waite High School and was a member of the Bradner United Methodist Church, Bradner Fire Bell’s Auxiliary, and was the Homeroom Mother for her children at school. Among many hobbies, she had a passion for painting, and enjoyed singing karaoke, and playing bunco & bingo. Her greatest job was being a wonderful mother and grandmother to her own family but to many others as well.

Friends will be received from 2-6 p.m. on Sunday, July 21, 2024, at Barndt Funeral Home in Wayne, Ohio, where a Celebration of Life Service will begin at 6 p.m. on Sunday with Pastor Tamara Bennett officiating.

Burial will be at Bradner Cemetery at a later date.

Memorial donations may be made to Defiance area Inpatient Hospice Center.
