Former Perrysburg businesswoman indicted for theft

A former executive director of a Perrysburg business has been accused of theft.

A Wood County grand jury on July 10 indicted Christine M. Best, 54, Bowling Green, for theft, a fifth-degree felony.

She allegedly stole $1,000-$7,500 from the Perrysburg Convention and Visitors Bureau between Jan. 1, 2022, when she was employed, to Feb. 19, 2024, when she left.

She previously was the marketing director for the Town Center at Levis Commons, Perrysburg.

The grand jury also indicted:

Ronald Dewitt Kinney, 37, The Colony, Texas, for having weapons while under disability, a third-degree felony; money laundering, a third-degree felony; four counts of carrying a concealed weapon, all fourth-degree felonies; improperly handling firearms in a moto vehicle, a fourth-degree felony; and unlawful possession of a dangerous ordinance, a fifth-degree felony. On July 27, he allegedly concealed on his person a loaded handgun after being convicted of a felony offense. He allegedly transported it in a motor vehicle in such a manner it was accessible to him and had in his possession an accessory to make the gun fully automatic.

If found guilty, he may have to forfeit $1,100, a Glock 19, ammunition and five cell phones.

Co-defendants Elantra Antionea Evans, 31, Detroit, and Antavius Latron Williams, 26, Columbus, Georgia, for burglary, a second-degree felony. On March 5, they allegedly trespassed into an occupied structure in order to commit theft.

Williams also was indicted for possessing criminal tools, a fifth-degree felony, for having a screwdriver with the intent to use it criminally.

A warrant has been issued for their arrests.

Louie C. Roberts, 51, Toledo, for promoting prostitution, a fourth-degree felony. On April 28, he allegedly supervised or controlled activities of a prostitute who was offering sexual activity for hire.

Andre Lamar Holmes, 46, Fostoria, for trafficking in cocaine and possession of cocaine, both fifth-degree felonies. On Feb. 8, he was allegedly found in possession of and was preparing for distribution less than 5 grams of cocaine.

Christopher W. Valent, 23, West Millgrove, for telecommunications harassment, a fifth-degree felony. He had previously pleaded guilty to a similar charge on May 20 in Bowling Green Municipal Court. As part of that plea, he was issued a no-contact order but called and texted the protected person several times on June 10.

Randy Ray Wilson, 50, Fostoria, for failure to appear as required by recognizance, a fourth-degree felony. On July 2, he failed to appear as required for a pretrial conference on charges of possession of methamphetamine.

Wilson also was indicted in a second case for violating a protection order, a fifth-degree felony, for his alleged actions on June 14.

A warrant has been issued for his arrest.

Derdrick Williams, 48, Sterling Heights, Michigan, for grand theft, a fourth-degree felony. On Dec. 18, he allegedly stole between $7,500-$150,000 from a Rossford business.
