The Wood County Committee on Aging will celebrate the life of movie actress Eva Marie Saint, who is 99 years of age and will turn 100 on July 4. Saint is both the oldest living and earliest surviving Academy Award-winner, and one of the last surviving stars from the Golden Age of Hollywood cinema.

The WCCOA will present these films as an after-lunch program. John R. Blinn, host and film buff, will present remarks on her motion picture presence with a viewing of one of her movies at the Wood County Senior Center, 140 S. Grove St., on Monday at 1 p.m.

A 1946 Bowling Green State University graduate, she won an Oscar for her performance in “On the Waterfront” from 1954.

In the first interview, Saint discusses her recollections and memories of “On the Waterfront” working with Marlon Brando and director Elia Kazan. This was her first motion picture after spending years in theater and television after graduation.

The second interview focuses on her experiences working with Cary Grant and director Alfred Hitchcock in “North by Northwest” from 1959. The interview also discusses how Hitchcock and others solved problems they faced.

The final interview is an in-depth conversation between Saint and Turner Classic Movie host Robert Osborne a decade ago. They discuss her career which covered seven decades of studio releases and made-for-TV films. She also details how important were her husband of more than 60 years and her children and grandchildren throughout her career.
