After what Bowling Green State University football coach Scot Loeffler called a “great spring” practice, he’s still adding to the team before the season starts.

The Bowling Green football program added seven transfers for the 2024 football season, according to Loeffler.

“You know what, I thought we had a great spring,” Loeffler said. “We had two Mondays that we’d love to have back. In my opinion, we didn’t practice at the elite level we want to be at, but considering all the guys who were out, all the youth that we had running around here, I thought it was real positive.

“Our youth for the most part did a really good job. We had new wide receivers in there, some new (defensive backs) and they were able to get caught up on having an idea on how we do business.”

BGSU welcomes tight end Elijah Boyd (UTEP), cornerback Todd Bumphis (Cincinnati), tight end Blane Cleaver (Army), cornerback Darius McClendon (FAU), running back Justin Pegues (Tennessee Tech), wide receiver Rahkeem Smith (Delaware St.) and inside linebacker Donovan Stephens (Oklahoma State).
