One Bowling Green City Schools administrator is leaving while five others have had their contracts extended.

At the May 21 school board meeting, held at Portage Village Hall, board members accepted the resignation of Angela Schaal, executive director of Teaching and Learning, effect Aug. 1.

Schaal plans to become an international and national educational consultant.

“I have always wanted to do this and it is the right time,” she said in an email Wednesday.

Schaal has been with the district since August 2019, and prior to coming to Bowling Green, she was an early literacy/school improvement consultant with State Support Team.

She said she is ready to go back to that work and told her staff this opportunity aligned with her long-term plans.

The board also gave three-year contract extensions to Michael Headley, middle school assistant principal; Tabitha Hiler-Young, director of food service; Eric Radabaugh, principal at the middle school; Toby Snow, director of transportation; and Michele Wolf, high school athletic director.

These contracts will run from Aug. 1-July 31, 2027.

Snow also was given a $5,000 stipend to be paid monthly, May-September, to oversee buildings and grounds.

Chuck Martin resigned as director of buildings and grounds effective May 4 and Jim Witt will fill the position in October.
