The Bowling Green Kiwanis Club will meet Thursday at the Slater Family Ice Arena Lounge located on the campus of Bowling Green State University.

The meeting and program are open to the public.

The meeting will commence at noon, with lunch available for $15 starting from 11:30 a.m. onwards. This week’s guest speaker is Travis Chapin, retired professor of construction management at BGSU. His topic of discussion is “My Climate Education Journey.”

Chapin taught construction management for 26 years, focusing on the students and the department’s relationship with the construction industry. He currently serves as a volunteer for the international organization Citizens’ Climate Lobby.

Chapin will discuss his personal climate education journey. Mostly self-taught, his research has led him to the realization that humanity is having a profound negative impact on the climate and thus the future of humanity. Putting political and social issues aside, Chapin feels climate education must start with the science.
