Rossford man sentenced for sex crimes

A Rossford man will spend more than six years in prison after pleading guilty to two sex-related charges.

Michael Roe, 52, appeared May 14 in the courtroom of Wood County Common Pleas Judge Matt Reger.

He pleaded guilty in February to the amended charges of sexual battery, a third-degree felony; and gross sexual imposition, a fourth-degree felony.

Reger imposed a sentence of 60 months for the sexual battery charge and 18 months for the GSI, to be served consecutively for a total of 78 months in the Ohio Department of Rehabilitation and Corrections.

He was given credit for 10 days served in the Wood County Justice Center.

Roe also was ordered to pay $1,000 in restitution to the victim.

Upon his release from prison, he will have to register as a Tier III sex offender, which will require him to register every 90 days for life.

Roe had indicted in August for two counts of rape, both first-degree felonies, after being accused of sexual offenses that occurred in 2017 and 2021.
