BLOOMDALE — Elmwood Midde School will have a new principal this fall.

Longtime Principal Roger Frank will retire from the district effective Oct. 31.

The school board accepted his retirement at its meeting Monday.

Frank was a teacher for Elmwood (1991-1996) and administrator (1996-2000) before taking a job at Perrysburg Schools. When Frank returned to Elmwood in 2015, he was hired as principal.

“Roger has done this job for me since August of 2015,” said Superintendent Tony Borton. “Roger has been a great addition to my administrative staff for the past nine years. He is a top-notch administrator and has brought the middle school forward during his leadership. He will be missed once he transitions out in October.”

Kevin Wolfe, high school assistant principal and athletic director, will succeed him.

The district did not take applications for the role, moving Wolfe from within.

“From August until October, Mr. Frank will be an extra administrator and do special projects as needed. He is also going to help train the new AP/AD as Mr. Frank has AD experience in his past,” Borton said.

As middle school principal, Wolfe will make $101,634.

After reviewing 12 applications, the district chose Nolan Wickard to be the new assistant principal and athletic director at the high school. Wickard will be paid $82,862 plus supplementals for being athletic director.

The next board meeting is scheduled for June 10 at 5:30 p.m. in the auditeria.
