Rossford’s Reinhart wins regional, heads to state

MARYSVILLE—Rossford junior Noel Reinhart (30-7) won a 110-pound regional girls wrestling championship Sunday by defeating Wauseon freshman Kaelynn Hartsock (28-13), 4-2 in sudden victory during the championship match, qualifying Reinhart to state as a No. 1 seed.

Elmwood sophomore Lylah Gheen (40-9) placed sixth at the regional tournament at 110. Only the top four in each weight class advance to state, which is held this Friday through Sunday at the Jerome Schottenstein Center on the campus of Ohio State University.

Host Marysville (164) won the regional team standings followed by runner-up Vermilion (152) and Fremont Ross (114), Gibsonburg (96), Indian Lake (88), Findlay (82), Archbold (55), Napoleon (54), St. Marys (48), and Seneca East (45) rounded out the top 10.

Reinhart wins pre-regional

CLYDE — The weekend prior, Reinhart won a pre-regional 110-pound championship at Clyde with a 5-3 overtime championship decision against Clyde junior Audrey Miracle (21-11).

Rossford senior Liv Husser (22-12) placed third at 120 as Rossford finished in ninth place as a team, scoring 41 points to finish behind Fremont Ross (212), Vermilion (160), Clyde (67), Sandusky (65), Woodmore (65), Mapleton (53), Port Clinton (44), and Seneca East (44).

Lakota junior Rylin Wonderly (17-9) finished fourth at 105, and placing fifth were Northwood sophomore Miriam Fowler (4-7) at 115 and Lakota junior Hannah Stahl (19-12) at 120. There were wrestlers from 24 schools participating.
