Wood Lane School Principal Emily Sisco has recommended the Wood County Board of Developmental Disabilities continue the Summer Day Camp for students at the school.

Each summer, Wood Lane School has provided a summer recreational “camp” program for its students, providing a safe and supportive environment in which students can explore educational, leisure, and social-emotional goals with trained staff able to meet their personal and instructional needs.

The camp operate for five weeks for students, from June 17-July 18, with one week of staff training in advance of the student camp.

Camp will alternate from three days to four days for the week.

This schedule provides for the two federal holidays in the summer. It is estimated that the cost of staffing will be $40,000. It was further recommended that the amount of $550 ($110 a week) per camper be charged.

Financial assistance is available.
