FREMONT — Bowling Green boys basketball closed its season 10-12 overall and 5-5 in the Northern Lakes League Cardinal Division by defeating host Fremont Ross, 71-58, Friday.
Jacob Amspoker led BG with 23 points, Karter Shank scored 14, Ahmir Ruffin scored 11, Brayden Freyman and Ja’ceous Shannon scored eight points apiece, Garrett Bateson scored four points, and Grant Sonner added three points.
For the Little Giants, DeKentre Hardin scored 15, Rhakai Lee scored 10, Dontell Heard scored eight, and Tyrell Patterson and Tallen Brown scored six apiece.
Michael Stover scored four points, Cayden Rodriguez scored three, and Braden Rapp, Justin Harolson, and Dominic Brown added two points each for Fremont Ross, which finishes the regular season 5-17 and 2-8.
Bowling Green opens Division II tournament play Friday, March 1, hosting the winner of Toledo Central Catholic (8-14) and Toledo Woodward (5-16) at 7 p.m. The winner advances to the district semifinals on March 7 at Lake High School.
