A Bowling Green man was cited for having a blood alcohol concentration three times the legal limit after police received three reports of his erratic driving.

Dispatched received calls at 5:31 p.m., 6:29 p.m. at 6:32 p.m. Sunday of a Dodge Avenger nearly running another driver off the road or crossing the center lane.

The third caller provided a license plate number and said the vehicle had parked in the 400 block of East Wooster Street. Officers found the vehicle parked at an angle and the front end in the grassy area, according to the Bowling Green Police Division report.

The driver was identified as Christhian Gomez.

When asked where he was coming from, he mentioned being from Mexico.

A Wood County Sheriff’s Office deputy was called to function as a translator.

The BGPD officer noticed a strong smell of alcohol on Gomez’s breath, slurred speech and bloodshot eyes, according to the report.

Using a phone to translate, Gomez typed saying he had one drink three hours ago.

The deputy arrived and translated from English to Spanish during the field sobriety tests, which Gomez failed.

He was arrested for operating a vehicle while under the influence and when searched, a THC vape pen was found in his hoodie.

He was taken to the station, where a breath test resulted in a blood alcohol concentration of 0.264.

Gomez, 19, was cited for OVI, PAC (BAC 0.264) marked lanes, operating a vehicle without a license and possession of hashish. He was released to a friend.
