Judith Louise Haas, aged 82 years, passed peacefully surrounded by her family at 5:45 pm on January 25th, 2024. Judy was a beloved Mother, Grandmother, Great-Grandmother, and friend. Judy never knew a stranger and made friends wherever she went. She was loved by many.

Judy was born on December 30th, 1941, to Robert Henry Hummel and Bertha Louise (Schwan) Hummel in Pemberville, Ohio, where she grew up above her father’s butcher shop.

She was a member of Bethlehem Lutheran Church, where she was baptized, confirmed, and married.

Judy graduated as class president from Eastwood High School in 1959. She continued to enjoy planning class reunions and keeping her classmates in touch until her passing.

She married the love of her life, Glen Haas, on September 9th, 1961. They settled down in her hometown of Pemberville to raise their family, where she ran a beauty shop. Judy tragically lost Glen in an automobile accident in 1971, leaving her to raise her 2 young children alone. Judy remarried and also raised 4 stepchildren.

Judy thoroughly enjoyed life, loving everyone she met along the way. She had many close lifelong friends who were like family to her. Later in life she reconnected with her high school sweetheart, Daniel Wegman, and they also enjoyed many loving years together before his passing in 2016.

Judy is survived by her children Gary (Wenjuan) Haas and Jodi (Ray) Piatt; her grandchildren Gena Drayton, Nicole (Glenn) Wyatt, Chelsea (Alex) Floro, Amanda Piatt, Alexis (Dominick) Thumel, Michaela Piatt, Conner Haas, Chloe Morelock, Tristan Haas and Ella Yuxuan Tang aka Ella Haas. Judy was blessed to have 11 great-grandchildren! Nora, Brooke, Trinity, Mackenzie, Addison, Anabelle, Lance, Evelyn, Amelia, Amara, and Alex.

Family and friends may visit the Freck Funeral Chapel, 1155 S. Wynn Road in Oregon, on Friday, February 2, 2024, from 2:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. Funeral services will be held at 6:00 p.m. Judy will be laid to rest at Fish Cemetery, Pembervile, OH.

Memorial contributions in her name may be made to Bethlehem Lutheran Church.
