Elmwood defeats Eastwood
A 7th/8th grade quiz bowl match was held Jan. 9. Elmwood defeated Eastwood 122-62.
Chadryk Hiser was top scorer for Elmwood while Scott McKenzie led the Eastwood team.
Coaches were Katie Smith for Elmwood and Ken Perkins for Eastwood.
BG Christian Academy downs Powell
On Jan. 10, Bowling Green Christian Academy defeated Powell Elementary, 126-34, in a 5th/6th grade quiz bowl match.
Top scorers were Elijah Stalica for BGCA and Bentivolio Hixon for Powell.
Coaches were Margaret Malanga for the academy and Allison Coldren for Powell.
Otsego defeats Hilfiker
On Jan. 11, Otsego defeated Hilfiker of Gibsonburg in a middle school quiz bowl match. The score was 94-78.
Kendall Mehl led the Otsego team while Jaroby Evarts was top scorer for Hilfiker.
Allison Ahrens is the Otsego coach and Erika Montgomery is the Hilfiker coach.
Woodmore defeats N. Baltimore, Eastwood
In 7th/8th grade quiz bowl action on Jan. 11, Woodmore defeated North Baltimore 106-62 and Eastwood 96-90.
Dash Bordner led the Woodmore team in both matches and was joined as top scorer by Colton Shaner in the match against Eastwood.
Sue Grant is their coach.
The top scorer for North Baltimore was Levi Vanlerberg. Jeffey Gregorsok is the coach.
The top scorer for Eastwood was Scott McKenzie. Ken Perkins is the coach.

On Jan. 24 in a middle school quiz bowl match, Hilfiker of Gibsonburg defeated Powell of North Baltimore, 76-44.
Jacoby Evarts led the Hilfiker team while Rilex Livingston was the top scorer for Powell.
The coaches were Erika Montgomery for Hilfiker and Allison Coldren for Powell.
Otsego downs Fostoria
Otsego beat Fostoria, 108-18, in a middle school quiz bowl match held Jan. 24.
