Dettmer selected an instructor at officer academy

U S Coast Guard Chief Petty Officer Andrew Dettmer, son of Herb and Becky Dettmer of Bowling Green, has been selected as an instructor at the Air Force Senior Non-Commissioned Officer Academy at Maxwell Air Force Base in Alabama.

Dettmer has served the Coast Guard for 21 years. He has served 13 years at sea, from the Gulf of Mexico, the Caribbean Sea, on the east coast and west coast as well as a tour in Bahrain.

The NCO Academy prepares service people for leadership roles in the Air Force as well as the other branches of the military. The instructors are from all branches to provide a wide range of information and skills to those attending. Chief Dettmer will be the only Coast Guard instructor.
