Country Garden Club accepts community project proposals

PERRYSBURG — Monday is the deadline to apply for a community project grant through Country Garden Club of Perrysburg. A project proposal form and grant guidelines can be found at www.cgcperrysburg.com.

Proposals from both non-profit organizations and individuals are welcome. Projects should benefit Northwest Ohio and align with the Country Garden Club’s mission which is to promote knowledge of horticulture and conservation and to enhance our community’s natural environment, according to Kathy Attwood, chair of the community project program.

“From our first funded project in 1934 until now, we have given over $750,000,” Attwood said.

Recently funded projects have included a community garden for Aurora Project; landscaping at Fort Meigs; native prairie signs at Hull Prairie Intermediate School; a wildflower outdoor lab at Perrysburg Junior High; boardwalk replacement at W. W. Knight Preserve; a garden shed at the Falcon Food Pantry; and landscaping at Rotary Park.

The selected projects will be announced in April and projects must be completed by May of 2025.

Project funds are primarily raised through the club’s annual Trunk Show. The 2024 Trunk Show is planned for Oct. 1-2 at the Carranor Hunt and Polo Club, 502 E. Second St.
