FOSTORIA — The Occupational Safety and Health Administration is investigating the death of a man crushed by a mobile home he was moving.
On Monday at approximately 11:05 a.m., the Seneca County Sheriff’s Office was contacted by the Fostoria Police Department and advised that the air jacks had failed and two males had been crushed beneath a mobile home they were attempting to move.
The incident occurred at Hopewell Estates, 8702 W. Ohio 18. A Toledo company was preparing the mobile home for removal today.
A 37-year-old male was deceased at the scene and a 61-year-old male was taken by Toledo Life Flight with internal injuries.
Seneca County deputies arrived along with Bascom Fire and Bascom EMS and New Riegel Squad.
“This tragic accident in our community is horrific for all that had to respond and for the witnesses as well,” said Sheriff Fredrick W. Stevens. “Our hearts and prayers go out to the family of the deceased male and the injured male fighting with critical internal injuries.”
