The Bowling Green State University hockey program announced the addition of Adam Schankula to the current 2023-24 roster.

Schankula, a 6-foot-3 forward from Perrysburg, joins the Falcon Hockey team after spending three seasons with the Maryland Black Bears of the NAHL.

“We are excited to add Adam to our program and to our forward group,” BGSU coach Ty Eigner said. “He has had a really good year playing for Maryland in the NAHL.

“He is a big strong forward who skates well, and he will have a positive impact on our lineup right away.”

Schankula was an alternate captain for the 2023-24 season and tied the Black Bears scoring with 31 points (11 goals, 20 assists) through 29 games this season.

Before Schankulas time in Maryland, he played three seasons with the NAPHL one year in 16U and two in 18U. Schankula was with the Tri-State Spartans 19U AAA (Indianapolis, Indiana) from 2020-21 and played in 50 games recording 61 points (37 goals, 24 assists).

Schankula played one year with the Sylvania North Stars 16U AAA (2019-20) and played four games and tallied five points (3 goals, 2 assists).

Schankula is a 2021 graduate of Perrysburg High School. He is the son of Rob and Deb Schankula, he has one sister, Caitlyn, and plans to major in Sports Management.
