Ricky G. Whiteman

Ricky G. Whiteman, beloved husband, cherished son, and devoted father, 63 of Millbury, Ohio, passed away Monday, December 18, 2023 at his home.

Rick was born June 14, 1960, in Oregon, Ohio, to Galen and Virginia (Steensen) Whiteman. In 1978, Rick graduated from Lake High School and shared a lifelong friendship with numerous classmates. He married the love of his life, Betty Pudlowski, September 28, 1991.

Rick worked as a driver for SkyReach and retired from United Rentals in 2020. A lifelong farmer, Rick worked alongside his grandfather and father in the operation of Whiteman Farms.

Rick was a member of Zion Lutheran Church, Latcha, Ohio, where he served on church council. On game days, Rick enjoyed relaxing in his man cave in the barn cheering on the Cleveland Indians, Cleveland Browns, Ohio State Buckeyes, Detroit Red Wings, while enjoying an ice cold Busch Light. A dedicated family man, Rick attended and coached his daughter’s sports teams and shared in many trips to Myrtle Beach.

Rick will be remembered for his contagious laugh, willingness to help others, and the love he showed to those in his presence.

Rick is survived by his wife of 32 years, Betty; parents, Galen and Virginia; daughters, McKenzie (Craig Lamson) and Sammy Jo; sister, Vicki (Chuck) Henson; lifelong friend, Mark Wells; along with many loving family members and dear friends.

He was preceded in death by his father-in-law and mother-in-law, William and Gertrude Pudlowski.

The family will receive friends at Eggleston Meinert & Pavley Funeral Home, Millbury Chapel 1111 Woodville Road (east of I-20) Friday, December 22, 2023 from 2:00 pm – 8:00 pm.

Funeral services Saturday, December23, 203 at 10:00 am in Zion Lutheran Church, 26535 Pemberville Road, Perrysburg, where the family will greet friends after 9:00am. Interment: Lake Township Cemetery.
