The Bowling Green cross country/track and field program has announced the addition of four newcomers who will compete during the 2024-2025 season.

The Falcons will welcome thrower, Emma Hoffman and distance/middle distance runners Rachael Hoover, Lexi Panning, and Reese Reaman.

“This is a great start to our ‘24 recruiting class,” BGSU track coach Lou Snelling said. “These athletes all have strong commonalities; athletic accomplishment at the highest level, strong academic prowess, big desire to do both at the highest levels in division one, great leadership abilities, and overall amazing character.

“They are a great fit for our Falcon Family. We look forward to continuing to build this class to an even more balanced and talented group over the next several months.”

Hoffman comes from Ottawa-Glandorf High School where she had top throws of 140 feet, two inches in the discus and 39-1½ in the shot put.

“She is a dedicated individual and it is shown in everything she does from the classroom to inside the ring,” BGSU throws coach Marcus Myers said.

“We are excited for her future as a Falcon and believe that she will be an immediate competitor in the discus in the MAC (Mid American Conference). Wishing her the best of luck for her senior season efforts.”

Hoover is a distance runner from Plain City, Ohio, where she attends Fairbanks High School. She has a top time of 5:06.15 in the 1600 meter race.

“Rachael has a ton of upside athletically,” Snelling said. “With time and development, she can make an important impact on BG cross country and track and field.

“Combine that with a strong leadership skill set and academic record, we’re excited for her to join the Falcon family.”

Panning comes from Fort Wayne, Indiana, where she attends Concordia Lutheran High School. Also a distance runner, she has a top time of 10:45.65 in the 3,200 and 17:50.6 in the 5,000 meter cross country race.

“I really look forward to watching Lexi develop in her time at Bowling Green,” Snelling said. “She is a true distance athlete that will make an immediate impact on our team and the Mid-American Conference.

“Lexi took big steps in 2023 as she focused more on the sport placing sixth in the state of Indiana in the 3,200 meter and seventh in cross country.”

A third distance runner is Reaman, who hails from Cuyahoga Falls, Ohio, attending Woodridge High School. She comes with top times of 2:10.82 in the 800 meter, 4:56.19 in the 1,600 meter, and 17:38.2 in the 5,000 meter cross country race.

“Reese has a huge range of abilities,” Snelling said. “Last spring, she stepped all the way down to the 200 meter to help her team at their league meet and then just won the OHSAA Divisiion II state title in cross country this fall.

“The sky is the limit on what she can accomplish in all three seasons during her time at Bowling Green.”
