Edward Karl Moser, age 67, passed away the morning of November 13, 2023. The cause of death was related to an internal abdominal injury.

Ed was born in 1956 in Toledo, Ohio to Edward Leroy and Isabella (Kazmaier) Moser.

Ed spent his earlier years living in Toledo, Ohio and was a member of the swim team at the local YMCA. In his early teens, his family built a house in rural Tontogany. In high school, Ed liked to hunt, fish and trap, as well as work on cars including his old ’50 Chevy pickup.

He worked at Digby Farms, down the road, throughout high school and college. He graduated from the University of Toledo with a B.S. in biology. He then moved on to Pioneer Seed in Napoleon, working in their soybean breeding division.

He married his wife, Anne, in 1984 and they built a house down the street from his parents in 1986. Leaving Pioneer Seed, he worked at Mid-Wood in Tontogany, then ADM in Toledo, and finally opened his own business, Creekside Custom, specializing in making custom cabinetry. Retiring in 2009, he quickly excelled at his passion of turning wooden bowls on his lathe and making many unique items out of a variety of hardwoods.

He is survived by his spouse Anne (Lakofsky) Moser, and they shared a fulfilling 38 years of marriage. Also surviving are a daughter Jennifer (Moser) Fallon (Nick), two grandchildren Clayton and Kyler Fallon, and younger brother Michael Moser.

He was preceded in death by his parents, and son, Charles Edward Moser.

Ed was a wonderful father and faithful husband. He was intrinsically capable of fixing almost anything as well as very knowledgeable about finance. He was always proud of and worked hard on the family vegetable garden. Family and friends were always entertained by his quick wit and horrible puns. After retirement, many Saturdays were spent with his grandson Clayton, riding dirt bikes behind the house which was followed by a family dinner.

His presence will be missed by his family, close friends the many people that knew him.

Visitation will be held on Thursday, November 16, 2023 from 4:00 to 7:00 p.m. at Peinert-Dunn Funeral Home, 18620 Washington St., Tontogany, Ohio 43565. His funeral service will be held on Friday, November 17, 2023 at 10:00 a.m. at the funeral home. Burial will be private.

Memorials will be directed to the Otsego FFA, going specifically to projects associated with woodworking.
